Eryn “Ron” Blattner

Body Piercer at The Amulet, Grand Rapids

Ron Blattner started work at the Amulet Body Piercing studio – part of Magnum Tattooing – in January 2011 as an apprentice, putting in hard work to learn the trade till the current day.

Coached by the Amulet’s lead piercing expert, Jennifer LaBryn, Ron has taken steps to becoming a fully experienced body piercer. He now completes many basic piercings on his own as he continues to learn about more complicated techniques in his training.

Ron’s background in piercing and body art

Ron has long harbored an interest in body piercing and body art, which brought him to searching piercing studios in Grand Rapids for an apprenticeship. He got his first piercing – a labret piercing – as a teenager and quickly became interested in collecting more of the body modifications.

After a few years, Ron had several more piercings and began stretching his earlobes as well. He says he thinks of his body as a blank canvas, and has adorned it with 17 piercings altogether (so far) and tattoos as well.

With a positive outlook on delivering a safe and friendly body piercing experience, Ron is a welcome addition to the staff of The Amulet. He and Jennifer LaBryn work hard to keep the facilities of the Amulet sterile, but also offer friendly and reasonable advice to those who they pierce.
